say yes to you

Module 3 - Lesson 4

Creating YOUR Recipe For Success

Learning Objective: This lesson will be centred all around setting up your individualized plan on what works for you using some key standards for success. We will take a look at daily implementations that are suggested that will aid you in moving forward and being the best version of you possible.

“If you want things to change, you have to change your actions!”

The thing about wanting change is that wanting is not enough, we have to take MASSIVE action and make changes in our behaviours, thinking, mindset and actions. Without this, we will not change, we will not see progress.

Same actions = Same Results!

This is why it is important to have standards and guidelines to implement. Yes, everyone's day and individualized plan will be different but the building blocks will be the same.

The main areas that we need to work on to see change and to continue to move forward  are listed below and under each category there are different tools you can use to work on each category. How you choose to work on this area is totally up to you.

Thinking/mindset:

  • Using your gratitude journal daily to keep you in the mindset of abundance and gratefulness. You can do this anytime during the day but doing it is a must.

  • Use daily affirmations written or mentally to validate the things you want in your life.

  • Use visualization techniques such as vision boards or mentally visualizing what you want in your life.

  • Daily meditation, breathing, priming or quiet time.

  • Be a limited belief DESTROYER. You can do this by ensuring that your mindset is focused on abundance, love and moving forward. This can involve replacing those old limiting beliefs when they arise and replacing them with empowering ones.

   Our Physical Body:

  • Walk daily

  • Do yoga daily or a couple of times a week

  • Do a workout program from home

  • Join a gym and do independent workouts

  • Join group classes

  • Take part in outdoor activities, hiking, gardening, etc.

  • Take part in sport related activities.

    Our morning routine:

How you start your day determines how the rest of the day goes. What are you going to include in your morning routine?

Will you get up 5 minutes earlier?

Will you wake up 30 minutes earlier?

What behaviours do you want to start NOW to enhance the quality of your life?

   Our daily habits:

  • Eat healthy

  • Move our body

  • Make time for YOU

  • Work on your relationships

  • Spend less time on electronics

  • Spend more time outside

  • Daily hygiene

  • Controlling how you think about things and squashing limiting beliefs

  • Living each day with optimism and possibility

  • Don`t worry about the things you cannot control, there is a plan for you and life is happening FOR you, not TO you.

  Our coping mechanisms

  • Journalling about things we need to work through

  • Talk it out with a friend, therapist, life coach, etc.

  • To look at our situations as lessons rather than crutches

  • To deal with difficult situations but not dwell on them

  • To walk away from negative people and create healthy boundaries with people who may be toxic or doesn`t align with your energy.

  • To use the word NO and value your time and energy.

  • To exercise or find what your best coping activity is to shift your state. Remember moving and changing your physiology is the best way to take you out of an undesirable state.

Who we surround ourself with/our circle of influence

  • Take part in retreats, activities, Facebook groups etc that involve people who have the same interests as you and motivate you to do better and strive to reach your goals.

  • Spend time with people who are successful in what you want to accomplish. If you want to be confident, hang out with confident people, if you want to be organized hang out with people who are organized.

  • Take courses and learn about the things you want in your life. Learn from people.

  • Take time to read personal development every day. This is part of my morning routine and reading material that is inspirational and uplifting helps set my day up for success.

  • Create healthy boundaries.

Develop and implement our goals:

  • Set your goals and actionable items every Sunday for the week.

  • Create your to do list the night before and prioritize them based on need.

  • Set monthly goals and revisit your progress weekly.

  • Use a planner and set checkins to keep you on task.

  • Plan with a friend and have an accountability partner to help hold you accountable.

  • Hire a life coach to help you plan for your future and keep you on track according to your goals.

The key here is to create your own recipe with ingredients that you love and enjoy.

In each area above you will notice that there are different ways you can implement each important strategy. Our homework for this week will be to create your own recipe, picking one or two ingredients from each category.

The same with any recipe, once you have a creation and miss one ingredient it can change the taste of the whole recipe. The same principal applies here. If we miss an ingredient it can throw our balance off. Using this method, we are ensuring we are meeting all of our basic human needs in a healthy way and finding our balance.

Moving forward from here, it is important to have a plan of action and that is what we are creating here. You have all the skills to move forward, now we put them to the test, we get organized, we realize our potential and our abilities and we use these tools to power forward.

I encourage you to revisit old lessons, use what works for you and your lifestyle and even use other strategies that maybe we didn't cover within this group. Remember, there is no one cookie cutter solution or plan for everyone. Each and everyone of us has unique needs and abilities and we need to honour them.

If you are not sure still what works for you, continue to experiment, keep changing it up to keep it fresh, new and exciting. I often change things up just to get rejuvenated and energized. It keeps me motivated and on track, but once again, do what works for you.

Now, let`s create our recipe, have this lesson handy when you are doing your homework so you know what your options are to choose from.

Part 2

Learning Outcome:  This is our last lesson for Say YES To You ......WOW!!!

This week we will focus on how to create a community that supports you and motivates you to live the life you always wanted.

In our last lesson, we will clue up with solidifying our support network and ensuring we are surrounded with a positive community.

Who you surround yourself with, you become!

You have heard me say this before and I TOTALLY believe it, we become what we surround ourself with, so ditch the negativity that is out there and embrace all the amazing people and groups out there who will lift you up, accept you for you and encourage you to grow and be the best version of YOU!

Step 1

So, our first step this week is to clean up our social media.... gulp.

The amount of time the average person spends on social media is staggering. Our lives are consumed with spending time on social media platforms, being instantly updated with negative occurrences in our world, people bashing others and the list goes on.

Believe it or not, all of this constant negative feedback impacts our lives. It instills more fear, you see more violent attacks, you are updated on negative events all over the world and you are being programmed by negativity without even knowing it.

In saying this, we have to be diligent on what we are seeing everyday. If we are constantly being reminded of fears, violence and absolute disheartening news, then this lingers and sticks with us and ultimately holds us back.

The object of this final lesson is to ensure that what you are seeing is impacting you in a positive, uplifting way. Of course you can`t filter everything, but we can aim to find a balance.

So here are some steps to follow to ensure you are filtering as best as you can:

1.) Clean up your social media, unfollow people who constantly post negative things and add people who lift you up.

Some influential people you can follow are:

  • Tony Robbins

  • Chalene Johnson

  • Abraham Hicks

  • Oprah

  • Gary Vaynerchuk

  • Brian Tracy

  • Robin Sharma

  • Stephen Covey

2.) Join a group that inspires you, get involved in volunteering, try a new sport, start getting yourself out there to meet new people and find people who like the things you do.

List of empowering groups/pages to be a part of and follow:

  • The Tribe of Empowering Women

  • Motivational Quotes

  • Motivational Masters

  • Women Inspiring Women

  • Buddha Inspiration

3.) Ensure you add people from this course to your social media and use this platform and group as a way to reach out when you need it.

4.) Make it a goal to spend less time on social media and more time learning, growing, getting outside, etc.

5.) Read uplifting and motivational books and listen to podcasts that inspire you and help you grow rather than instil fear and negativity.

Hopefully these few tips will help you ensure you have a solid social media base that is uplifting and encouraging rather than negative and deflating.

Step 2

Our second step for this week`s lesson is we are going to create and write your final legacy.

What legacy do you want to leave behind? What do you want to be remembered as? What imprint do you want to leave on the world?

Your homework this week is to write your legacy that you aim to leave behind. Once you know what you want, fight and work hard every day using the skills and strategies that we have learned to make this legacy YOUR reality.

Check out the homework section below for more details on this.

The only person that can control your future, is YOU!

Our legacy is the final tool that we will put in your tool kit to help motivate you and move you forward towards your goals and towards your future.

You have all the tools you need to succeed, the only step left is to continue to take action, to move forward and to be relentless on accomplishing what you want.

Often times, the taking action and the discipline that comes with implementing our strategies and tools is the only thing holding us back. Yes, it takes hard work, it takes dedication, it takes discipline, but it is totally worth the hard work and the results are pretty empowering.

When moving forward, remember what works for you and if you need reconfirmation on what you want and how to move forward, whip out your emergency tool kit to help put you back on track.

I am so proud of all your hard work, your progress and for showing up for YOU.  Working on YOU is such a hard thing to do but each and every one of you have embraced this, have worked hard towards change and are doing pretty damn awesome.

I will be leaving the Facebook group open but changing the name of it, so please, feel free to post in here, to ask for help, to check in, to update us on progress, to use it as accountability, or whatever you need it to be. I will be doing a check in with you guys weekly or biweekly in the group and would love to hear from you guys to hear how you guys are kicking ass.

I will close the final lesson with one of my all time favourite quotes that I constantly use as a mantra or a pick me up when I need it......

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new!

So, while it is important to understand on where you came from, to honour your past, the key to change is to let the past be in the past and focus ALL your energy on building the new, creating the life you want and being the best kick ass version of yourself.

"You are the creator of the future, you have all the power!"
